Sahara Trade West Africa (STWA) was incorporated in 1996 primarily to cover trade across West African States. As the volume of transactions handled by the original Sahara Group founding company grew rapidily, the need for separation of functions became even more evident and STWA was mandated to build, operate and manage a fully focused West African trading and marketing company.
STWA is active in the following countries:
- Nigeria
- Benin Republic
- Cameroon
- Ghana
- Ivory Coast
It manages and operates the following term contracts:
- 30,000 Barrels per day to Tema Oil refinery on behalf of the Government of Ghana
- 40,000 Barrels per day to Societe d' Iviorien Rafinnage on behalf of Government of Cote d'Ivoire.
- Supply of 2000MT each of gas oil and gasoline to the Government of Niger Republic.
- Supply of the following petroleum products to the Republic of Benin:
20, 000MT of gasoil
30,000 MT of gasoline
20, 000MT of Jet Fuel
20, 000MT of Fuel Oil
STWA is active in the trading of products across West Africa, exporting steadily from Cote d'Ivoire and Nigeria and Importing into Ghana, Nigeria and Benin Republic.
The company remains focused on expanding its foot print in West Africa and is working on opening offices in Angola and Equatorial Guinea in 2009.
